Requirements to sell via Rakuten Advertising

  • Merchant account with Rakuten Advertising and approval for product feeds.
  • XML product feed (also supports TSV/CSV) delivered via SFTP or HTTP, compressed in GZip/Zip format.
  • Required fields: product ID, title (≤70 characters), description, brand, category, variant group ID, product URL, image URL, price, sale price, availability, and GTIN (EAN/UPC).
  • Optional fields: additional images, MPN, condition, gender, age group, brand/category attributes.
  • Supports multiple feed versions (for different languages, currencies, or campaigns).
  • Feeds must include header, product entries, and trailer; UTF‑8 encoding is required.
  • Frequent feed updates recommended to keep data current.
  • Must comply with regional consumer and data privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA).
